Hailed as being the “fastest growing sport” in the world, Team Hong Kong welcomes you to join the exciting development of Hong Kong Ultimate. Just like other sports, the best of Hong Kong talent joins together every so often to play collectively to represent Hong Kong at its best.
Team Hong Kong has regularly attended many national tournaments including China Nationals, Asia Oceanic Ultimate Championships and the World Ultimate & Guts Championships (WUGC). Team Hong Kong has won the gold at the China National Championship in 2009 and 2011.
In 2015 Hong Kong hosted the WFDF Asia Oceanic Ultimate Championships (AOUC) where Team Hong Kong represented in all 3 divisions of Open, Women & Mixed. It was the first time in Team Hong Kong history to have a team in the Women’s division of a major tournament.
Most recently, with help from PlayerLayer and The Greatest Ultimate Bag, Team Hong Kong participated at the Mixed and Women’s division at the 2016 WFDF World Ultimate and Guts Championship in London, England. It was the 1 st time Hong Kong represented in the Women’s division at the WUGC. It was also the 3 rd time Hong Kong has represented in the Mixed division (Canada 2008, Japan 2012).
Team Hong Kong Mixed finished top 2 in their pool play (Great Britain, Denmark, and Switzerland) to advance into the power pool of top 16. However, facing off against top tier countries the Mixed team was unable to advance to the next stage of the competition and finished T-21. Team Hong Kong Womens notched 2 wins in their 1 st oversea tournament ever with victories over Mexico and India to finish T-23 rd.
Currently Hong Kong is ranked 33 out of 47 eligible countries under WFDF across all divisions.
In the near future, Team Hong Kong has preliminary plans of sending teams to compete at the World Ultimate Beach Championship 2017 held in Royan, France and the U24 World Ultimate Championship in Perth, Australia.
